On June 23, I attended the Parkland Neighborhood Fresh Stop and got my first real taste (literally and metaphorically!) of the amazing work that New Roots is doing in our community. I learned what rainbow swiss chard is, how to tell zucchinis and cucumbers apart, and of the existence of zucchini bread (which I would later unsuccessfully attempt to make). I met so many amazing people and even got to take home a share of the delicious produce. Here are some of my photos from the event.
