Our Story

“What’s for dinner?”
Three simple words that define our story. Words that challenge what and how we eat. Words that highlight the devastating fact that for many the answer is nothing. Words that set us on a quest to ensure that there is healthy plate reserved at the table for everyone.

“What’s for dinner?”

Three simple words that define our story. Words that challenge what and how we eat. Words that highlight the devastating fact that for many the answer is nothing. Words that set us on a quest to ensure that there is healthy plate reserved at the table for everyone. We hope you will be inspired to join the chain reaction.

Chad becomes a fan of the TV show Top Chef taking Abby along for the ride - literally, someone had to drive to Whole Foods. Dinners got healthier and tastier at the Kamen household.

Resourcefully, he parlays his love for good food into a concept that will work for both Speech Team and his Bar Mitzvah. He connects with addressing the lost meal in American society - dinner - and how this sociological issue is negatively impacting children across the nation. Team Food Chain (TFC) is founded upon the premise of reminding families to eat together and, in doing so, providing for those in need.
TFC partners with Kentucky Country Day (KCD) and becomes an Event Sponsor for Dare to Cares 2010 Hunger Walk. Chad raises $15,000 and the Walk receives record breaking attendance. He continues to play an active role, with Dare to Care estimating $30,000 attributed to his efforts.
Chad and Abby commit to taking TFC forward together. Chad heads to the University of Virginia, while Abby focuses on building TFC's partnerships in Kentucky.
